Mao Tongqiang

about the artist

Mao Tongqiang studied Fine Art at University of Ningxia in 1980. Between 1984 and 1985, he continued studying Oil Painting at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now the China Academy of Art). He has held solo exhibitions at the Singapore Art Museum, China Art Archive and Warehouse, Wall Art Museum, Song Zhuang Art Museum and the Guangdong Art Museum. Mao Tongqiang also participated in several art fairs such as Frieze London, and major international exhibitions such as the Kunstmuseum Bern, Groninger Museum, Deichtorhallen Museum, Hamburg, Bergen Art Museum, Norway and the Chengdu Biennale in China. Works by Mao Tongqiang are in numerous international collections including collection Ulli Sigg.
